高级职员布鲁诺在一家造纸厂辛勤工作，受到雇主和股东一致称赞。15年后的一天，因工厂外迁，他被解雇。40来岁的布鲁诺自认有技术，年纪也不大，不怕找不到称心工作。然而，3年过去，他仍处于劳务市场门外，顿时醒悟面临着你死我活的无情战场，只有奋力自救才能保持自己和家庭的生活水平，逃脱被淘汰命运。布鲁诺决定杀死自己的竞争者，拼死打赢这场战争……
